Recording EIF data for simulation run validation

The core of simulation runs is recording high-quality EIF data. We recommend following these steps for collection.

How to collect

Download and install the latest version of Mega Toolbox. Use an iPhone or an Android phone supporting ARCore whenever possible, and perform collection in the target area.

Download toolbox

Download and install the data collection tool application package Mega ToolBox.

• iPhone users can search for Mega Toolbox in the App Store, download and install the data collection tool.
• Android users can download the Android Mega Toolbox installation package from the development tools section on the EasyAR download page. After downloading, you can use adb install EasyARMegaToolbox_***.apk on a computer, or directly install the downloaded apk package on your phone.

Acquisition process

• Open Toolbox and select Record EIF test data for remote development simulation positioning.

  

• After entering the EIF recording tool, fill in the file name (only English letters and numbers are supported), then click the Enter button.

• Before entering EIF recording mode, the camera should face a texture-rich area for initialization. After observing that the tracking status in the upper left corner of the panel changes to Tracking, point the camera toward the area where test data needs to be recorded.

  

• After collection is completed, click the stop recording button to end the recording.

Collection precautions

• Data should be collected within the image acquisition area
• Test data can be recorded from a visitor's perspective
• Avoid sudden large turns or prolonged pointing toward featureless areas like white walls/ground
• Each recording session is recommended not to exceed 10 minutes
• If you use a phone supporting AR Engine, the tracking status may take 10~30 seconds to change to Tracking state

Data export

After completing simulation data collection on your phone, you need to export the collected EIF data.

Export Android data

Connect the phone to a computer and enable File Management mode on the phone. Navigate to the local file path Android/data/com.easyar.mega.toolbox/files/MegaStudio/FrameStream, then select and export the corresponding named data file.

Export iOS data

• Export using a Mac computer

  1. Connect the iPhone to a Mac computer.

  2. Open the Finder application, click the phone icon, click Trust, then also click Trust on the phone side.

     

  3. After authorization, click the Files menu, find the MegaStudio folder under the MegaToolbox App, and drag MegaStudio to the computer desktop. (For large files, wait patiently to ensure complete export)

     

• Export using a Windows computer

  1. Download and install iTunes on your Windows computer.

  2. Connect the iPhone to the Windows computer and perform authorization.

     

  3. Click the phone button.

     

  4. Click File Sharing, find the MegaStudio folder under the MegaToolbox App, then click Save.
